Leave room for the wings
Start with an upper-body portrait where the shoulders are easy to trace. A close crop that cuts through both shoulders gives the wings very little visual space. Keep the face well lit and choose an expression you want the after shot to retain.
Build the reveal in two pictures
Upload the portrait to the after-shot slot. The composition adds warm light and butterfly wings. If you want the “Eww, squish it” setup, keep the before photo as a separate image and add any captions in your carousel editor after downloading the JPEG.
Check the silhouette before adding text
At small size the wings should read behind the shoulders, with a clear outline around the head. Compare the eyes and expression to the original. Place your caption away from the face so the visual change still reads when someone swipes.
