What you need for a Smalltown Boy AI video
To create a Smalltown Boy AI video, prepare two separate JPEG, PNG or WebP images, no larger than 10 MB each. Each photo should contain one clear person or pet. You need permission to use any person’s likeness; a parent or legal guardian must authorize a minor’s photo. A group picture does not replace the two individual references.
Watch the cat demonstration before selecting your photos. It shows the type of performance: a character reacts close to the camera, a partner moves behind, and their positions change later. The public example has its own framing and sound. It helps explain the effect, but it is not a personalized preview of the images you are about to upload.
1. Assign the opening foreground and background roles
Image 1 follows the curly-haired performer who wears a purple shirt in the private dance source and opens closest to the camera. Image 2 follows the mustached performer in the red-and-black plaid shirt behind them. In the public cat demonstration, the orange cat illustrates the first role and the black-and-white cat illustrates the second.
These are character assignments, rather than permanent left and right positions. When the second performer comes forward, Image 2 should still guide that character. Use the swap control before generation if you want to reverse who opens closest to the lens. Check both thumbnails after swapping so you know which image is in each slot.
| Photo | Opening source role | Cat demonstration equivalent |
|---|---|---|
| Image 1 | Purple-shirted performer closest to the camera | Orange cat |
| Image 2 | Plaid-shirted performer behind | Black-and-white cat |
2. Choose the segment and output frame
Both lengths begin at 0:00 of the prepared dance source. Twelve seconds includes more of the changing foreground and background performance; twenty-one seconds keeps the full supplied sequence. Choose the full cut when the later paired dance and ending matter to your video.
Select 480p or 720p. Original framing preserves the source’s full 560 × 752 composition. Square and 9:16 are centered crops, so hands or part of a character may fall outside the result. The cat demonstration is 720 × 1280 and uses a different frame: its visible edges are not an exact crop preview of the private source.
3. Review the credit quote before submitting
Read the selected duration, resolution, photo assignments and credit amount together. At the currently published rates, the full 21-second choice uses 1,680 credits at 480p or 3,780 credits at 720p. These are generation credits, not a promise that every checkout will charge the same dollar amount: an existing balance changes how much you need to buy.
You can watch the demonstration and choose settings without submitting a generation. Buying credits is also separate from starting the video. After returning from checkout, review the settings and use the final confirmation to submit. If the browser reports an uncertain request, check My videos before sending another paid request.
4. Check the dance and original audio in your MP4
When the result is complete, play the whole file with sound. Compare both characters against their photos during the opening, the change of foreground role, overlaps and later shots. A recognizable first frame does not establish that the assigned identities remain consistent throughout the performance.
The finished file uses the generated picture together with original audio from your selected source segment. The cat demonstration’s soundtrack is separate. Listen to the beginning and ending, and check timing where gestures or mouth movements are visible. Download the completed MP4 from the result page after reviewing it.
Questions before your first Smalltown Boy AI video
Can I use just one photo? This studio requires two separate role images. If you want the same subject to play both roles, you still need to provide an image for each slot; the two-photo workflow does not automatically invent a missing partner.
Will the 5-second option shorten the public preview? No. The studio keeps playing the full cat demonstration. Your duration choice controls the new generation and its quote, not the length of that public sample.
Can I upload my own dance or write a different routine? This studio uses its prepared performance and does not offer a replacement source-video or free-text prompt field. For a Smalltown Boy AI video that follows this scene, keep the two assignments clear and review the selected length before confirming.
